GM Hydra-Matic 6L80 / 6L90 Power Flow

Weber State University (WSU) - Automotive Technology Department - Transmission Lab. General Motors Hydra-Matic 6L80 / 6L90 6-Speed Automatic Transmission Power flow. This transmission is typically used in 2007 and newer Chevrolet Corvette and Camaro, Cadillac CTS-V, and Chevrolet and GMC pickup trucks and SUVs with gasoline engines. This transmission uses a simple planetary gear set to drive a dual planetary gear set (with a common planet carrier and internal gears) to achieve six forward gears and reverse.

This video helps demonstrate NATEF Task A2.C.10. " Diagnose transmission/transaxle gear reduction/multiplication concerns using driving, driven, and held member (power flow) principles.", a priority 2 task.
